Tonight sees the kickoff event for the 24th Annual Shake the Shack Rockabilly Ball at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard. Doors open at 8pm each night, and each night sees a different lineup of Shake the Shack favorites gathered together for an evening of music, drinks, and shenanigans. The event will also feature a car show in addition to 13 amazing live performances from top-flight rockabilly bands from across the country. Buy your 3-day pass here, and while you wait for the tickets to arrive, get to know the bands in attendance below.

Thursday, September 22nd, aka “Surf Nite” featuring:
The Tomorrow Men, Insect Surfers, Aloha Screwdriver, & Bansai Surf. Tickets

Join Shake the Shack for “Surf Nite,” a celebration of the long-running music style surf-rock, highlighted by cheeky Brits The Tomorrow Men, Insect Surfers (more commonly known as “holy crap that guy’s guitar is a shark!”), Cali pulp alumni Aloha Screwdriver, and Washington’s own Bansai Surf. These are the most waves you’ll be able to catch this side of Man or Astro-Man?.

Friday, September 23rd, aka “Swingin’ Doors Night” featuring:
Whitey Morgan and the 78′s, Nikki Lane, Knut Bell & The Blue Collars, and Lucky Lawrence & The Souvenirs. Tickets

Friday will see the advent of the honky-tonk country rebirth, spearheaded by Michigan mainstays Whitney Morgan and the 78′s. Of course, their backing bill is nothing to scoff at: newcomer Nikki Lane has already made a name for herself with crooning vocals and catchy hooks, while localites Knut Bell & The Blue Collars will cultivate their already-strong following.

Saturday, September 24th, featuring:
Hillbilly Casino, Kim Lenz and the Jaguars, Billy Dwayne and the Creepers, Captain Jeffrey and His Musical Chumbuckets, and The Wild Snohomians. Tickets

Saturday’s Rockabilly closing bash will be headlined by Hillbilly Casino, the face-melting Nashville alt-country laureates who’ve made a new name for Rockabilly in the heart of Tennessee’s DIY scene. Also in attendence will be the redheaded bombshell Kim Lenz with her backing band The Jaguars, ensuring a healthy amount of vocal swagger and sass.
